# Antivirus Protections

## Antivirus, POSConnect, scheduled task, ping delay, UTP, orders failing

**Symptoms:** Ping Delays, UTP

**Issue**:  Store/Dealer added antivirus programs, (AVG, Norton, McAffee being the most common,) to server.  These will usually view the scheduled tasks in POSConnect as threats and quarantine them

**Resolution:**  

1\) Receive Dealer authorization\*\*, enable Windows Defender, and remove antivirus program.   

2\) In Task Scheduler, re-enable GetOrdersFPOS and POSConnectJobs.   

3\) Confirm good Ping. 

4\) Send test order and confirm with store. 

5\) Direct store/Dealer to not install aftermarket antivirus again.

\*\*If Dealer does not authorize removal, use antivirus "Exception" tool for all scheduled tasks for POSConnect (GetOrdersFPOS, POSConnectJobs, ItemAutoPriceUpdate.)  Proceed to step 2.
