Antivirus Protections

Antivirus, POSConnect, scheduled task, ping delay, UTP, orders failing

Symptoms: Ping Delays, UTP

Issue:  Store/Dealer added antivirus programs, (AVG, Norton, McAffee being the most common,) to server.  These will usually view the scheduled tasks in POSConnect as threats and quarantine them

Resolution:  

1) Receive Dealer authorization**, enable Windows Defender, and remove antivirus program.   

2) In Task Scheduler, re-enable GetOrdersFPOS and POSConnectJobs.   

3) Confirm good Ping. 

4) Send test order and confirm with store. 

5) Direct store/Dealer to not install aftermarket antivirus again.

**If Dealer does not authorize removal, use antivirus "Exception" tool for all scheduled tasks for POSConnect (GetOrdersFPOS, POSConnectJobs, ItemAutoPriceUpdate.)  Proceed to step 2.
